Eco Time appoints first female CEO
Eco Time, the leading Time and Attendance software and hardware provider, announced that its board of directors has appointed Delene Coetzee as its first-ever female Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect.
Delene has been an integral part of the Eco Time group for 15 years and is a true visionary with a proven track record of execution. She is people-focused with deep leadership capabilities and has successfully developed talent across multiple areas of the business.
After joining the Johannesburg team as a Software Consultant in 2005, Delene was, at the time, the only female in the department and one of only two women within the office. Her responsibilities quickly advanced to the Client Services Team Leader before becoming the Client Services Manager in 2009.
In 2010, Delene moved to Durban where she founded Eco Time’s Durban office. She was solely responsible for the appointment, training and synchronisation of an entirely new team of employees. After 8 years of exceptional customer satisfaction and retention, Delene moved back to Johannesburg where she was promoted to the role of General Manager. Her continued success within the regions resulted in not only record-breaking accomplishments but also overall company growth.
Delene has been instrumental in changing opinions and behaviour, and her ability to implement and drive change is strongly underpinned by her core values and instilling a culture that is focused on serving. Anli van der Westhuizen, an Eco Time Sales Executive, said, “Delene has always led our team to perform as victors and not victims – encouraging us to embrace change. She is committed and invested in developing not only business, but also personal growth, and I look forward to the continued mentorship she will offer as our new CEO”.
Despite the challenges of raising three children alone, and working in a primarily male-dominated industry, Delene has always excelled both personally and professionally. Eco Time is intent on providing an environment where women no longer need to choose between raising a family or building a career. And Delene is an extraordinary representation of being both a wonderful mother and an inspirational businesswoman.
Delene said, “Eco Time is not just another Time and Attendance company. We value our customers and provide real solutions to their complex business problems. We are able to delight our customers because we develop quality products and employ people who deliver excellence. I am proud, honoured and humbled to be considered worthy to lead the best of the best in the industry”.
Speaking on behalf of the board, Robert de Jager said, “We believe that Delene’s strategic and operational knowledge will be invaluable to shareholders and employees at Eco Time. She brings with her fresh insights and perspectives on how to deliver value to our customers and our products. We would like to congratulate Delene on her new appointment and reiterate our wholehearted support within her new role.”
